Ertan Hydropower Station

About Me

My hometown is Panzhihua, a city in western China named after a flower. Known for its abundant sunshine and mild climate, Panzhihua enjoys a subtropical dry-hot valley climate with year-round spring-like weather. It is home to the Ertan Hydropower Station, the largest hydropower plant built and commissioned in China during the 20th century.

Every winter, many people return to Panzhihua to escape the cold, and it has also become a popular destination for athletes' winter training camps due to its favorable weather conditions. However, much of Panzhihua remains remote and mountainous, with diverse ethnic communities living in these areas. Educational resources are still underdeveloped, and like many parts of western China and other underprivileged regions globally, there is a significant need for support, particularly in early childhood education.

In my personal spare time, I am dedicated to continuously learning and exploring how technology—especially AI—can be applied both in my field of macroeconomics and climate finance, and in the public welfare projects I care about, such as early childhood education in under-resourced areas. I believe AI has the transformative potential to enhance research in complex economic systems, improve macro-finance risk modeling, and, at the same time, help children from disadvantaged backgrounds access quality education and bridge the gap with the rest of the world. While there is still much to learn and discover, I am committed to leveraging these tools to contribute to both my professional research and the social causes I deeply care about.
